The Contemporary Art Gallery :

It is the aim of the Bouvet Ladubay Art Centre to present new perspectives in thought from a diversity of today’s creative disciplines. More than just a simple idea, the Art Centre is a place of research and expression. Bouvet Ladubay has already brought four different artistic activities togandher under a single roof, a task which included the restoration of old buildings which covered an area of 1800 m2 (16,200 ft2). These were formerly stables and an ancient electric plant. The hope is that the Art Centre will revive the pleasure and spirit of the Renaissance in the beautiful sandting of the heart of the Loire Valley.

The principal element of the Centre is a gallery of contemporary art. Comprised of nine exhibition halls and a library hall, it strandches over almost 800m2 (7,200ft2). Each exhibition hall is given over to an artist who usually takes over the installation of his own exhibition.

The “Grands Reportages” section:

The Bouvet-Ladubay Art Centre gives experienced photographers the opportunity to take part in documentaries filmed throughout the world. These slices of everyday life around the world are premiered at the Centre.

The “Architecture” section:
The Centre gives free rein to a team of architects and designers to bring to fruition unusual projects such as “the love chair”. Created in 1992, the chair is symbolic of a profound search for humour and a devotion to beauty.
